What makes hypnotherapy so effective
Hypnotherapy helps you make changes in thought and behaviour at the deepest level of the mind.
In short, there are two parts to the mind:
• The Conscious Mind
• The Subconscious Mind
The conscious mind is anything found in our awareness at any given moment. It is logical, analytical and where we find our willpower.
The subconscious mind is the deeper part of the mind, and is anything hidden from our conscious awareness in any given moment. It holds all our long-term memories, habits and emotions.
Have you ever wondered why trying to change your behaviour with willpower is such hard work?
Well, the reason is that willpower is found in the conscious mind, but it is the subconscious that has more power and influence over our behaviour.
So, if for example, you try to give up smoking with willpower, but in your subconscious you are still holding all the old feelings about smoking – that, for example, it relaxes you, is sociable, allows you a break time during your day, reduces stress, etc. – these subconscious thoughts will win…keeping you in that old behaviour.
So how does hypnosis help?
Hypnosis is like a bridge from the conscious to the subconscious, allowing you to make changes at a deep level easily and quickly. When in hypnosis, you can get rid of old, unwanted behaviour patterns, replacing them with new, positive alternatives.
Thus, habits can be broken, phobias dissolved, you can become more confident, achieve your goals, manage your stress, reduce your anxiety and panic, and much more.
