In short, there are two parts to the mind:

The conscious mind is anything found in our awareness at any given moment. It is logical, analytical and where we find our willpower.
The subconscious mind is the deeper part of the mind, and is anything hidden from our conscious awareness in any given moment. It holds all our long-term memories, habits and emotions.
